Questions
The things people ask first.
Short, honest answers.
Living here
Who can live at Mary’s Haven on Broad?
Women, and mothers with their children. We talk with each person first so we can both see whether it’s the right fit.
What are the house rules?
The home is 100% drug and alcohol free. Curfew is 10 PM unless you’re working, quiet hours run from 10 PM to 7 AM, there are no visitors or pets, and everyone keeps the house clean. Read the house rules.
Can I take my prescribed medication?
Yes. Prescribed medication, including Suboxone, Vivitrol and methadone, is welcome when taken as prescribed.
How long can I stay?
This is transitional housing, not permanent housing. How long you stay is based on your situation and your progress.
Can I bring a pet?
No. Animals are not allowed in the home. A verified service animal may be considered with proper documentation.
Where is the home?
In New Bethlehem, in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. We don’t post the street address online, to protect the privacy of the women and children who live here.
Can I see the house first?
There are photos of the inside of the home on this site. We don’t post photos of the outside.
Children and family
Can I bring my children?
Yes. Children of any age are welcome, and each family is talked through case by case.
How many children can I bring?
There’s no set number. It depends on how many children you have, how old they are, and who else is living in the house right now. We talk it through with you first.
Can family or friends visit?
Not at the house. No guests or visitors are allowed on the property, and that includes friends, family and partners. It keeps the home safe, private and stable for everyone. Many families spend time together at the park down the street.
Can a caseworker visit?
Yes. Caseworkers are always welcome at the house. There’s a page of quick facts for caseworkers.
Cost
What does it cost?
Weekly placement fees range from $125 to $225, based on the level of structure and individual support you need. The fee is set and shared with you before you move in. See what’s included.
Is food included?
No. Residents are responsible for their own meals. We can share information on local food pantries, clothing resources and community assistance.
Who pays?
Private-pay and agency-funded placements are both welcome. Help from community organizations, churches or other sponsors may be accepted, and we can send an invoice or a W-9.
